As Lok Sabha elections intensifies, a political clash erupted in Diamond Harbor Lok Sabha constituency, involving workers from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Trinamool Congress.

The victim, identified as Kaushik Jana, a Trinamool worker, was attacked by a BJP worker named Navkumar Naskar. Sources indicate that Kaushik Jana was returning home after completing his political duties on Wednesday night when Navkumar Naskar ambushed him from behind at a tea stall near his residence, leaving Kaushik critically injured and bleeding profusely.

Local residents rushed Kaushik to Diamond Harbor Super Specialty Hospital for urgent medical attention. Subsequently, the assailant, Navkumar Naskar, was apprehended by enraged locals and subjected to a severe beating. Police from the Diamond Harbor police station intervened to defuse the tension and rescued Navkumar from the mob, also transporting him to the same hospital for treatment.
